Arrol Corelli
1985Violinist and film music composer
Biography
Arrol Corelli was born and raised near Chennai and began learning Indian classical violin at the age of five. He trained under Ravi Kumar and later under A. Kanyakumari, while also studying Western classical piano.
After early concert experience and competition prizes, Corelli entered Tamil cinema as a music composer. His stage name was suggested by director Mysskin, in reference to the Italian composer and violinist Arcangelo Corelli.
He is known especially for scores such as Pisaasu and Pasanga 2, and his profile adds a contemporary film-composer branch to the Indian violin archive.
