Charulatha Ramanujam

Charulatha Ramanujam comes from a musical family. Her musical journey was initiated by her mother, Smt. Komalavalli, and supported by her father, Sriman Ranganaswamy.

She learnt violin from Violin Vidwan Sri Pudukkottai Ramanathan and also received guidance from senior musicians including Ganakalabhushana Sri Anur S. Ramkrishna, Sangita Kalanidhi R. K. Srikantan, and Sangita Kalacharya Neela Ramgopal.

Her work brings together violin training and vocal grounding, giving her playing a strong sense of raga clarity, musical sensitivity, and concert discipline.

Charulatha has received honours including the Swaralayaratna Award from Suswaralaya College of Music in Bangalore, the Kalki Krishna Murthy Award from Chennai, and the Best Concert Team Award from the Music Academy, Chennai, in 2023.

She holds the distinguished status of All India Radio Top Grade artist.
