Biography
Lalgudi Gopala Jayaraman Radhakrishnan, popularly known as G. J. R. Krishnan or Lalgudi Krishnan, is the son and disciple of Lalgudi G. Jayaraman.
He has carried forward the Lalgudi bani, a violin style shaped by vocal phrasing, bhava, laya, and the ideal that the violin should closely mimic the human voice.
Krishnan has often performed with his sister Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi. He received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2015, and the duo was chosen for the Music Academy's Sangita Kalanidhi in 2022.
