Thiruvizha Viju S Anand

I was born into a family with a rich musical heritage. I am the son of renowned violinist Sri. Thiruvizha Sivanandan and accomplished musician Smt. Vijayalakshmi. Music has been an integral part of my life from an early age, and I consider it a privilege to have grown up surrounded by great musicians and a strong musical tradition. My musical journey began under the guidance of my grandfather, the eminent musician Sri. Cherthala Padmanabha Bhagavathar. I began learning violin from renowned violinist Sri. Thiruvizha Ullas, and later continued my advanced training under the guidance of the distinguished violin maestro and Guru Sri. Nedumangad Sivanandan. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and understanding of Carnatic music through dedicated training and performance. I was honoured to receive the Senior Scholarship in Violin from the Government of India, and I am an A-Top Grade Artist of All India Radio. Academically, I hold a Ganabhooshanam Diploma in Violin from RLV College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Government College, Chittur, Palakkad, and a Master’s Degree in Violin from the University of Delhi. One of the significant milestones in my musical journey has been receiving the prestigious Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award in 2022.
